This post is part of a rating series where I’m trying to rate every major cryptocurrency on the market. See our full list of cryptocurrencies to find other ratings.

argcoin-arc-cryptocurrency-logoRating summary: Argcoin (ARC) bills itself as “the first electronic currency developed in Argentina.” That’s about all you can say for the currency, too, as its developer seems to have fallen off the map (along with coin’s future).

Argcoin (ARC) Currency Review

Argcoin launched on Aug. 20, 2013. It billed itself as “the first electronic currency developed in Argentina” – a country rife with inflation. Indeed, one of the coin’s stated goals was to act as a hedge against inflation. A coin that’s billing itself based on its country of origin doesn’t add much to the cryptocurrency community, though. Perhaps the original developer(s) realized that as they seem to have disappeared, the official website is down, miners and a blockchain are nowhere to be found. The coin exemplifies “failure to launch.” Even the code repository on github has disappeared. Perhaps, it’ll be revived in a 1.1 launch. Until then, Argcoin is an unremarkable bookmark in history. We’ve marked the coin as dead or dying in our cryptocurrency database.

Argcoin Price Target

NOTE: This price target is entirely speculative. It’s a hypothetical what-if, so take it with a grain of salt. Still, the lack of community, developer support, a public website, miners and blockchain make me pretty confident in saying this coin’s price target is $0.
